Installation, start-up and Site Acceptance Testing of RPDTM machines in Norsk Titanium Plattsburgh production facility. Develop RPDTM technology, equipment, and process knowledge to sustain and improve the machine capability in Plattsburgh to achieve continuous RPD per approved requirements with high quality.

Work tasks and responsibilities 

  • Member of Machine Design & Delivery team located in Plattsburgh, NY.
  • Responsibility for installation and start-up of machines
  • Conducting machine support to ensure machines are running within specifications and process control tolerances.
  • Perform top-level troubleshooting and root cause/corrective action for installed machines.
  • Execute Engineering Change Requests/Service Pack updates approved by NTi Configuration Control Board for Plattsburgh equipment and implementation of approved Engineering Change Orders to maintain common machine configuration across sites.
  • Maintain observations log and interface with Technology Center for disposition and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Observe and document process knowledge into released specifications, Interface Control Documents, architecture diagrams, SOPs, and training material.
  • Assist in the implementation and use of the equipment database and spares list for Plattsburgh.
  • Assist to identify areas of machine improvement to increase profitability, competitiveness, reliability, quality, safety, and coordinate design changes through Eggemoen Technology Center.
  • Carry out NTi supportive tasks given by manager.
  • Support NTi policies on HES and Quality.

Preferred educational background and professional experience

  • BS in engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering and Automation Engineering.
  • Background within machine/automation systems manufacturing and/or commissioning.
  • Background within a manufacturing function that mirrors the aforementioned areas.
  • Strong systems engineering development experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of integrated electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to work within a high synergy environment with strong team dynamics.
  • Willingness to travel to corporate site in Norway for training and globally in support of customer as necessary.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US and have, or be able to obtain a US Passport.

  • Ability to handle hands-on tasks to ensure up-time on equipment.
  • Structure and accuracy in daily work.
  • Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously.
  • Creative with ability to improve product development and production methods.
  • Ability to provide consistent work products and complete projects on time.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
